Yuengling Rolls Into Georgia
Pottsville, PA, October 2008 D.G. Yuengling
& Son, Inc., Americas Oldest Brewery, is pleased
to announce that it is expanding sales into the state of
Georgia.
Ten distributors have been assigned to open
the northern part of the state and will serve the major
cities of Atlanta, Athens and Augusta. Yuengling is proud
to welcome into our wholesaler network: A.B. Beverage Company,
Atlanta Beverage Company Fulton and Marietta, Dalton
Beverage Company, Dender Distributing Company, Eagle Rock
Distributing Company Rome and Stone Mountain, LaGrange
Grocery Company, and Leon Farmer & Company Athens
and Gainesville.
The introduction will start in the Atlanta
market at the end of October and roll into the remaining
territories through mid-November. Yuengling will introduce
Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan packaged beer, and
likely start shipping draft in 2009.
We are very exited about the expansion
of the Yuengling brands into North Georgia, stated
Steve Craine, President of Eagle Rock Distributing Company.
In my 33 years in this industry, I can't remember
a more eagerly anticipated arrival of a beer brand. The
Yuengling family success story really hits home with our
employees in this time of uncertainty and caution. Five
generations of quality products and 21st century marketing
skill will bring lots of smiles to our retailers and consumers
as we hit the streets this week in North Georgia.

Jeff Quimby
and Shawn Keith presented with Yuengling thank you
gifts.

Consumer excitement over the announcement
has been tremendous, comments Lou Romano, Yuengling
Marketing Manager. Anticipation has been building since
a grassroots website began petitioning for Yuengling to
come to Georgia more than two years ago. Over 1,800 Yuengling
drinkers signed up at www.BringYuenglingtoGeorgia.com,
eager to send a message to the brewery.
Shawn Keith is the brains behind the website
and was thrilled to participate in the kick-off events this
week. He and Jeff Quimby, a fellow Yuengling fan, were presented
with autographed Yuengling memorabilia as a thank you for
their efforts. "This is great, boasts Keith.
Not only for those who have signed the petition and
are driven to seek out Yuengling wherever we go, its great
news for all the beer drinkers in Georgia who now get to
experience the great taste of a Yuengling!
Georgia was an obvious choice for expansion,
added Romano, because it enables us to complete our
East Coast footprint. Yuengling beer is now sold in the
12 contiguous states from New York to Florida.
