The Eagle Has Landed in South Carolina
Pottsville, PA, October 2004 D. G. Yuengling &
Son, Inc., Americas Oldest Brewery in conjunction
with its 175th year anniversary soars into South Carolina.
D.G. Yuengling & Son announced the appointment of the
first two distributors in the state of South Carolina, The
Yahnis Co. and Henry J. Lee Distributors.
South Carolina is the eleventh state in which Yuengling
will distribute and sell its product. This expansion is
the result of Yuenglings strategic plan to expand
and build its presence in the Southeast market.
The Yahnis Co. officially launched Yuengling in April and
is currently serving the Columbia and Myrtle Beach markets.
We are honored to distribute products for Americas
Oldest Brewery and are excited about growing its market
share in South Carolina, stated Byron Yahnis, Owner
of The Yahnis Co. We had a very successful introduction
for the brand. The products are fun to sell and the publics
response has been extremely positive, boasts Yahnis.
Henry J. Lee Distributors officially launched Yuengling
in October in the Beaufort and Charleston markets. Owned
by Dennis Lee, the combined markets cover a seven county
area, in the southeastern part of the state. Vice President
and General Manager, Jim Wicks stated South Carolina
hasnt seen anything like it!
Yuengling has a unique portfolio of fine beers that will
definitely have a presence here in South Carolina. Since
our introduction in mid-October the brand has had tremendous
success and continues to lead in a very competitive market,
boasts Wicks. The consumers reaction to this
brand has been phenomenal and the demand continues to increase,
added Wicks.Based in Pottsville, PA, D.G. Yuengling &
Son, Inc., America's Oldest Brewery and 5th largest brewer
in the U.S., is family owned and operated since 1829 with
two manufacturing plants in Pottsville, PA and an additional
plant in Tampa, FL. Principal beer brands include Traditional
Lager, Light Lager, Premium, Premium Light, Black and Tan,
Dark Brewed Porter, and Lord Chesterfield Ale.
