Yuengling’s Lagers for Heroes Campaign Enters its Second Year to Support the VFW

Pottsville, PA, May 15, 2017 – D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. is pleased to announce it will enter its second year of support of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S through its “Lagers For Heroes” campaign.

D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. will recognize the sacrifices that America’s veterans have made with a significant donation to the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ assistance programs in the amount of $100,000. Yuengling, America’s Oldest Brewery began supporting the VFW through their “Lagers For Heroes” program in 2016. This year’s program runs May 29 to July 4, 2017 and promotes Yuengling Traditional Lager and Light Lager with the line “Grab A Lager & Toast A Hero.”

“We are thankful to the brave and dedicated service men and women who made tremendous sacrifices and served our country,” said Richard “Dick” Yuengling, President and Owner of Yuengling. “Generations of our family served, which reminds us today of the value and support VFW brings to our nation’s heroes.”

Yuengling fans can support the VFW through participation in the 2017 campaign in two ways. Consumers can text HERO to 27722 to make a $10 donation. (Message and data rates may apply.) These donations will help veterans access their earned benefits like health care, education and disability compensation. These donations will support the work of the VFW’s National Veterans Service (NVS) program, where a network of trained, professional and accredited advocates assist veterans obtaining the benefits and entitlements they’ve earned through their military service from the Department of Veterans Administration through their military service. The VFW offers this service at no charge.

Secondly, participating retailers will collect donations upon checkout when customers elect to donate when making their beer purchase. Funds from donations made at retail locations will be used to support grants VFW has designated for the state from which the donations originated. Family members and friends will be able to recognize their heroes at retails displays by purchasing “Lager for Heroes” donation tear pads throughout the 20 states where Yuengling’s portfolio of beers are sold.

Yuengling Announces Sponsorship Agreement with Philadelphia Phillies

Pottsville, PA, April 7, 2017 – D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery, is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with the Philadelphia Phillies. This multi-year agreement with one of Pennsylvania’s Major League Baseball teams will feature Yuengling beer, which is the first new beer sponsor of the Phillies in nearly 40 years.

Sponsorship with the Philadelphia Phillies includes an outfield wall sign, digital sign and in-stadium sign featuring the brewery’s flagship beer, Yuengling Traditional Lager.

As in past years, fans can enjoy Yuengling Traditional Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan on draft and cans in 16 oz. and 24 oz. at beer vending areas at Citizens Bank Park.

The sponsorship, with the support of business partner Origlio Beverage, starts opening day on April 7, 2017.

Yuengling Iconic Eagle Packaging Now Available in Indiana

Pottsville, PA, April 3, 2017 – D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery, starts rolling out its new iconic eagle packaging in Indiana this week. Yuengling began selling its draft beer in March.

D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. is a fifth generation, American owned and family operated company that started in Pottsville, PA in 1829.

Yuengling Introduces New Iconic Eagle Packaging

Pottsville, PA, March 16, 2017 – D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery, is pleased to announce packaging updates to its core brands Yuengling Traditional Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan in April 2017.

“We are excited to introduce updated packaging of our core brands which features our powerful Yuengling Eagle & Barrel icon, a proud symbol of our family owned brewery since 1829.” said Dick Yuengling, Owner and President.

The Eagle & Barrel icon has great significance for D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc.  The company’s first brewery named the Eagle Brewery was constructed in Pottsville, PA in 1829.  The Eagle Brewery was later destroyed by fire in 1831, and D.G. Yuengling relocated operations to the current location, which is recognized as America’s Oldest Brewery.

This is the first time the flagship brand Yuengling Traditional Lager packaging has been updated in nearly 30 years. “Lager” is an iconic American favorite known for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor.

As part of this packaging update, Yuengling Light Lager has relaunched in a blue, white and cream look to highlight the brand’s refreshing characteristics. Light Lager continues to maintain the balance of its full-flavored parent, Traditional Lager, yet is brewed for only 99 calories per 12 oz.

Black & Tan’s new design highlights the brand’s well-balanced English half-and-half style that the brewery debuted over 75 years ago.

While our packaging is being refreshed, our recipes and the taste of our core brands are not changing.   “We are pleased with the response from our wholesalers, retailer partners and our very passionate Yuengling consumers on the new packaging designs,” said Yuengling.

The new iconic Eagle packaging for Traditional Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan will be available on all pack types.

Yuengling Expands Distribution to Indiana

Pottsville, PA, January 12, 2017 – D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery, is pleased to announce that it is expanding the distribution of its highly sought after brands to Indiana.

Three wholesalers have been assigned to distribute Yuengling products in the state. Yuengling welcomes into their network; Monarch Beverage, Indiana Beverage and Five Star Distributing.

“Some things are just worth the wait!” said John Xenos, Senior Vice President of Monarch Beverage. “We are proud to have been selected to represent the Yuengling Brewery brands when they are finally introduced in Indiana in 2017!” Bruce Leetz, Owner of Indiana Beverage, is also passionate about the brand’s expansion and stated, “our family has been in business in Indiana for five generations and to be able to partner with the America’s Oldest Brewery is both humbling and powerful.”

The rollout in March, will include Yuengling’s flagship beer, Yuengling Traditional Lager, as well as Light Lager and Black & Tan brands. Soon after, Yuengling will release its lineup of heritage and seasonal brands.
