Tampa’s History
In the winter of 1999
Dick Yuengling’s daughters surprised him with a Christmas present to the Philadelphia Phillies’ Fantasy Camp in Clearwater, Florida. While attending the camp, Dick was presented with an opportunity to purchase a former Stroh’s brewery that was built in the 1950s. When he bought the brewery, Yuengling was able to fill the demand across the country for Yuengling beer.
For 20 years, Yuengling’s Tampa Brewery existed as a focal point of the Uptown Tampa community and a source of production for Yuengling’s southern expansion efforts. Then, in 2020, the Yuengling family decided to break ground on a new venture — the construction of a brand new dining and event space on the grounds of the Tampa Brewery. This revitalization would feature various first-class amenities including a restaurant, outdoor recreation and entertainment areas, a beer garden, a pilot brewing system, and more.
The Yuengling Draft Haus & Kitchen allows guests to connect with the brewery’s rich history while enjoying a first-class dining experience with fresh, local cuisine.
