Stars and Stripes Celebration FAQ

TRAFFIC INFO:

In order to prepare for the Yuengling Stars & Stripes Summer Celebration, we are offering the following information on street closures for the event to our neighboring residents and businesses.
Starting Friday, July 12th at 6am, portions of selected city streets will be closed in preparation of the Saturday, July 13th event.
These streets will remain closed until approximately 6am Sunday, July 14th:

• Laurel Boulevard: From Centre Street to Terry Reiley Way (Access to County Services Building parking lot and Progressive Vision Institute parking lot will be available until close of business Friday)

• Progress Avenue: From East Race Street to the US Postal Facility (Access to Progress Cleaners will be available until close of business Friday. The US Postal Facility will be accessible from E Harrison Street.)

• Arch Street Parking Lot: Will be closed starting Friday, July 12th at 5pm.

Starting Saturday, July 13th at 6am, the following streets will be closed for the event and inaccessible to any vehicular traffic.
These streets will be opened by approximately 8pm Saturday:

• Mahantongo Street: From South 6th Street to South 2nd Street

• South 2nd Street: From Mahantongo Street to West Norwegian Street

• North 2nd Street: From West Norwegian Street to West Market Street

• West Norwegian Street: From North Centre Street to South 3rd Street

Starting Saturday, July 13th at 6am, the following streets will be closed for the event and inaccessible to any vehicular traffic.
These streets will be opened by approximately 6am Sunday:

• Progress Avenue: From East Norwegian Street to E Harrison Street

• Laurel Boulevard: From North Centre Street to Terry Reiley Way

• East Race Street: From North Centre Street to Progress Avenue

• East Arch Street: From North Centre Street to Terry Reiley Way

• East Market Street: From North Centre Street to Progress Avenue

• Capitol Parking Deck: Will be closed starting Friday, July 12th. All vehicles must be removed.

Starting Saturday, July 13th at 10am, the following streets will be closed for the event and inaccessible to any vehicular traffic.
These streets will be opened by approximately 12 Midnight Saturday:

• North Centre Street: From West Market Street to West Harrison Street (Access to US Post Office customer parking until 1pm Saturday)

• Laurel Boulevard: From North 3rd Street to Terry Reiley Way

Route 61, Route 209, North and South Centre Street, and East and West Market Street may be congested during the event due to increased traffic in the area, but will remain open to through traffic.
